1/ Purify the Water: To do this you must recite the purification mantra for water. "Lao Tze, Founder of Taoism, bless all beings so that everything I do will be successful."

2/ Purify the Ink: You should use black or red ink. "Ambassador of the Pine Tree help me accomplish my goals by transferring your power to this talisman and bring success".

3/ Purify the Brush: "This brush will have spiritual power with positive purpose to achieve my goals so everything will be peaceful."

4/ Blessing the Paper: Cut a piece of paper 7 inches long, using yellow coloured paper. "North King bless my paper giving it spiritual power and transform it to thunder and lightning and fly 10,000 miles away."

After completing these purifications pass the items though incense 1 or 3 times to empower everything.

Empower a talisman:

Before drawing the talisman you must hold the pen to do another empowerment. Visualise your hand holding the pen, protected by all the Guardian Gods, making any evil spirits run away. After the talisman has been written, you should do a blessing and spray water to purify, then light incense to invite the gods to visit you.

If your heart is very respectful, honourable and truthful they will have come when you invited them and given the talisman power - otherwise all you will have is a piece of paper.

How to join the lineage:

If you want to write a talisman, you need to have a spiritual lineage, so you can empower the Talisman. If you don't have the lineage, then you will have no spiritual power. This is like having a car without a key. So the most important factor is having a lineage from a Spiritual Master. One such Master to take refuge with is Grand Master Shen Yeng Lu, founder of the True Buddha School.
